There is always more to consider literally and figuratively, when dressing up as a plus size woman. Shinta Brown, a plus size lifestyle and travel content creator shares with us how her mind works when it comes to dressing up.
Hey Loves! Here are some tips to keep in mind when putting together an outfit. First, consider the basics:
Where are you headed?
What's the occasion?
And is there a dress code?
Then, ask yourself some key questions:
Is this within your budget?
Is it sustainable?
And is it versatile enough to wear for multiple occasions?
These are important things to remember to ensure you look and feel your best while staying mindful of your values and priorities.
I don’t know about you but I like to wear my clothes (lol). My style options are not one-hit-wonders for me, so it is important that I select garments that last, and can be worn in many different ways.
Secondly, Comfort is crucial when it comes to fashion. It's important to know the types of clothing that make you feel good and confident. For instance, I love my body and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in this world! However, I do have some features I prefer to tuck away. If you have certain features you prefer to tuck away, such as upper arms, consider wearing outfits with sleeves. The more dramatic, the better. Remember, dressing for your body type is key to feeling comfortable and confident in your skin.
As a curvy and plus-size woman, it's important to remember that it's not the size that matters, but how you wear it! Embracing your body and knowing your silhouette is key. Don't be afraid to try something new or different. However, it's important to avoid flimsy fabrics that don't complement your curves. By choosing the right clothes, you can enhance your body shape and feel confident and beautiful.
